The Professional Disc Golf Association is the game's governing body. This non-profit organization was founded in 1976 by Ed Headrick and remains dedicated to the promotion of disc golf worldwide. Today the PDGA is run by the players and is overseen by a volunteer board of directors who are elected by the member population. The PDGA has grown over the years to include over 17,000 members who play in more than twenty countries on five continents.
Every year the PDGA sanctions hundreds of tournaments and competitions for both professional and amateur players. Competitors earn points by participating in these events, which are tabulated by the PDGA and used to determine invitations to the annual World Disc Golf Championships, and other events.
If you love disc golf, show your support by joining the PDGA so that it may continue to bring growth to the game.
